Behind the Brand: SALANIDA

Where slow fashion meets the rhythm of the sea

In a fashion world driven by speed, trends, and excess, SALANIDA moves differently—quietly, intentionally, and with a deep respect for both people and planet.

Founded by Lithuanian designer Gabriele Kerpyte, the brand has been committed to slow fashion since 2012, building a loyal following through timeless knitwear that blends comfort, elegance, and purpose.

A Brand Born by the Sea

SALANIDA’s identity is deeply tied to its Baltic roots. Inspired by coastal landscapes—the meeting point of sea, wind, and sand—the brand translates nature into texture, tone, and feeling.

The name itself is a nod to Nida, a serene Lithuanian seaside town known for its dunes and stillness—a place where time slows down, much like the philosophy behind the brand.

This sense of calm is woven into every piece: clothing designed not to shout, but to stay.

The Philosophy of Slow Fashion

At its core, SALANIDA is built on a simple idea: buy less, choose well, and wear longer.

Rather than chasing seasonal trends, the brand focuses on timeless design and longevity, creating garments that remain relevant year after year.

Production is deliberately small-scale and responsive. By working in on-demand and small batches, SALANIDA avoids overproduction and eliminates unnecessary waste—one of fashion’s biggest environmental challenges.

This slower rhythm isn’t just a business model—it’s a mindset.

Crafted Close to Home

Every SALANIDA piece is made entirely in Europe, with a tightly controlled, transparent supply chain.

  • Yarns are spun in Italy using premium natural fibres
  • Garments are knitted in Lithuania at a family-run factory
  • Production happens close to the brand’s studio

This proximity allows for close collaboration, higher quality control, and a more human approach to manufacturing—supporting traditional craftsmanship while reducing environmental impact.

Materials That Matter

SALANIDA’s collections are defined by their softness, durability, and natural composition.

The brand works primarily with:

  • Extra-fine merino wool
  • Mohair and alpaca
  • Linen and cotton
  • Eco-viscose
