Behind the brand with arkitaip

What motivated you to start arkitaip?

I grew up with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainability, thanks to my mother, who taught me how to crochet when I was a child. That connection to handmade, long-lasting pieces inspired me to create arkitaip. I wanted to build a brand that embodies both timeless design and environmental responsibility - clothing that is not only beautiful but also has a positive impact on the planet.

What's unique about arkitaip?

arkitaip is a reflection of my mother’s and my shared vision: to create sustainable, timeless linen pieces that are made to be cherished for generations. We only work with responsibly sourced European, Master-of-Linen-certified linen, ensuring that every piece is biodegradable, durable, and ethically produced. Our designs aren’t about trends - they’re about longevity, quality, and honoring traditional craftsmanship. And most importantly, arkitaip carries the spirit of my mother’s artistry and values, which continue to inspire everything I do.

How's your relationship with your mum, now you share a brand together?

(My mum passed away in at the end of 2023)

Even though she’s no longer physically here, my mum is still at the heart of arkitaip. We founded this brand together, and her passion for craftsmanship and sustainability continues to guide me every day. She empowered me to reach for the stars and taught me so much - not just about creating beautiful things, but about doing so with integrity and care. arkitaip is, and always will be, a tribute to her.

What drove you to create a sustainable brand? How important is sustainable fashion to you?
Sustainability has always been at the heart of what I do. Seeing the negative impact of fast fashion - both environmentally and socially - made me realise that there’s a better way. I believe that as designers and consumers, we have a responsibility to make choices that respect people and the planet. For me, sustainable fashion isn’t just a trend; it’s a necessity. With arkitaip, I want to prove that style and sustainability can - and should - go hand in hand.
