Pygmalion, a sculptor from Cyprus who, disillusioned with the women he had encountered, vowed to dedicate his love to his art. He sculpted a statue of a woman so beautiful, so perfect, that he fell deeply in love with his own creation. He named her Galateia and adorned her with jewels, prayed to Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and wished for his statue to come to life. Aphrodite, touched by Pygmalion's genuine love, granted his wish.
Galateia came to life, and they fell in love, their love story a testament to the magic of art, and the transformative power of true love.
The Pearl: Represents Galateia, symbolising her beauty, purity, and the magic of transformation. Pearls are also associated with Aphrodite, the goddess who brought her to life.
The Garnet Bead: Represents Pygmalion's passion, the fire of his love and dedication to his art. Garnets are also associated with creativity and inspiration.
The Padlock Charm: Symbolises the locked potential within Pygmalion, his initial disillusionment with love and his eventual opening of his heart to the possibility of true love, found in his creation. It also represents the unlocking of Galateia from statue to living woman.
