My Gift of Goodness - Avril Groom

When it comes to style fashion editor Avril Groom, who has written about fashion and jewellery for some of the UK's leading publications for over 40 years, knows her stuff. She is also our co-founder Alicia's Mum. So we could think of no better person to pick some of her favourite pieces from our ethical gift guide. Check out Avril's pieces below:

"With lovely cold weather forecast for a while yet, I’m thinking snug and chic, like Damson Madder’s recycled, quilted coat in my favourite shade of green. Belted and long, it’s smart enough for going to work which entails standing on freezing platforms waiting for late trains and then sometimes going out to lunch, or for casual wear over a big sweater and jeans. Talking of sweaters, I love the 70s ski vibe and colours of Mirla Beane's striped-bodice cashmere mix slim sweater. I also love a dress for Christmas, and East’s Aurelia embroidered dress is a perfect, mellow shade and decorative enough to be celebratory, as well as easy enough to eat Christmas lunch in! As a fan of natural underwear shapes, under it I’d put Olly's very pretty Liao lace bandeau bra and matching knickers. And the textured gold of Eva Remenyi’s Archaic Wide Hoop earrings have an organic look reminiscent of the best of early 70s jewellery which never goes out of style and makes the perfect finishing touch to a festive outfit."
